Many people in relationships attend therapy when they feel it is their last chance to help their relationship difficulties. You can attend relationship therapy much sooner than this. If you find that you and your partner are often feeling stuck and not able to move forward in a conflict, or going around and around in circles, or maybe you have been through something tough together and are struggling, you may benefit from therapy. There are many reasons that relationship therapy may be useful.

Definitely not! It is very common for couples to experience perpetual conflicts about individual differences between each partner. So common, that according to the Gottmans, almost 70% of relationship conflicts are likely to never be fully resolved. Getting some help for these conflicts and challenges doesn’t mean the relationship is bad. It’s actually a pretty good indicator of openness and commitment for partners to seek professional support to improve their connection.

A good way to sense if a therapist feels like a good fit to you is whether you feel comfortable sharing your story with them, and you feel you are not judged once you share it.
-
Statistics say around 70-75% of couples see meaningful improvements in their relationship after seeking couples therapy (Lebow et al., 2012, Journal of Marital and Family Therapy).

Topics that couple’s often need support with include communication differences, attachment styles, perpetual conflicts that are difficult to resolve, sex life challenges, exploring new things together in your sex life, transition to parenthood, grief, money difficulties,
